AGE Closing the digital divide between nations and between rural/urban

Try  to distribute your contents through CD Roms or Flash online systems, it would be costly and challenging.

Without these two, do you have any other way to do it?
With AGE you have.
To all Ministries of Education trying to introduce ICT to rural schools ...get AGE
If you want your ICT in mass Education to succeed, use AGE to create the modules.
Otherwise success will be elusive no matter how much money you put into it
.

To quote Microsoft's Unlimited potential's  comments...

Quote "Several barriers stand in the way of effectively reaching these underserved communities, including environmental or infrastructural obstacles, localization issues, the need for personalized solutions, and the prohibitive cost of technology.

To better serve these people, Microsoft Unlimited Potential combines advanced technologies and strong partnerships with governments, international organizations, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), educational institutions, and technology and service partners. Ultimately our mission is to enable sustained social and economic opportunity for those at the middle and bottom of the world’s economic pyramid—the next 5 billion people. " unquote

This proves the problems are real and we see no solution in sight using current technology. AGE is precisely aimed to overcome such inhibitions and aims to reach out to the next 5 billion people using a simple technique of reaching out to the poor or excluded.

Equitable education to rural/urban areas. A project to close the digital divide among nations and among the urban and rural areas.

Imagine the entire animated Additional Mathematics contents for Form 4 and 5 combined created under AGE platform took less than 1.4 mbyte in size !  Impossible? try this.

AGE Paperless Homework Tools and contents - a new platform for a greener world can accelerate progress towards achieving Education for All.

How AGE accelerates EFA and helps to achieve EFA by the target 2015.

Current situation -

The target towards Education for All by the year 2015 is in danger of missing the target.
This is not surprising in view of the inhibitions faced by implementers of ICT in Mass education in many countries especially third world countries where the budgets for such are limited.

It does not matter how much money or resources is put into the project for EFA, it is going to take really great efforts to succeed simply because no technology is available today to enable it so. Most ICT platforms in place are meant for easy to reach and well-to-do areas e.g urban schools with Labs. Most are CD/DVD based or online Internet based.

EFA is about empowering the poor students and not the rich who are mostly in the urban or semi urban areas. Try bringing ICT to these rural areas are big challenges.  Even the OLPC project is not going to help much if contents cannot be made available. Check out a feature story about AGE at
New Educational Content for Old Computers

There are a hosts of problems that just cannot be overcome by current technology and to date not a single country can safely claim to be successful in implementing ICT in mass education including the most developed countries much less so the third world countries.

What AGE Homework Tools do...

AGE will provide all countries (especially third world countries) free use of tools and contents. AGE would empower their teachers digitally for free and AGE would save their trees and money too.

AGE in a single stroke will be able to overcome many of the inhibitions to allow very effective delivery of contents as well as AGE solutions to empower teachers to be able to create self correcting digital contents even in the middle of nowhere using currently available equipments, technology and AGE.  On top of that by using AGE, the number of trees that need to support papers used in Education would be tremendously cut and pressure on chopping trees down for such would be dampened.

Imagine if each child is to save 3 reams of paper per year, how many reams or trees would be saved. Saving the trees means you save the environment, the rivers, the animals, the birds and the climate. All these without efforts because benefits for doing so is so overwhelming. See benefits www.paperlesshomework.com/Ybenefits.htm

We the developers of AGE, are willing to allow countries to use our tools to create contents for free. Schools can have the tools and contents created by us for free since we are sufficiently financed by our Malaysian government grants and other sponsors. These free tools and contents are worth millions given free.

Help us to help the world
 Immediate benefits:-

   1. teachers will be free of all hard part of teaching ...correcting question papers and collating
       the students' marks.!
   2. teachers will be able to access a good and wide variety of tested modules
   3. students save time and money (without having to pay for photocopies of homework)
   4.
If each student saves two reams of paper per year, 10 million students will save
20 million reams of papers ...and that is a lot trees saved( better than recycling)

( Malaysia has been reported to be the world's biggest increase in carbon usage  per
capita!!! Let's reduce the use of carbon)
   5. Students will have less books to carry to schools....lighter school bags
   6. Classes will be more lively and students pay more attentions.
   7. Equitable education for rural and urban areas.
   8. Governments do not have to spend hundreds of millions for computers!

Most important of all... students will learn fast with easy and good materials. Ideal for use in
classrooms and do the exercises in classes.  You would be amazed how the classes will come to life.
We have done it in schools and know how effective this would be ...bring life back to your classes.
... and it is free for all schools...because right now we are funded by the Malaysian government.

Teachers can now create their own interactive digital contents easily with AGE and very easily distribute them and be used easily by untrained kids/teachers. See video

Scores/marks can be easily sent back to teachers
See video and teachers can easily collate the scores into MS excel. See video

Everything simplified from production to collating the scores. Saves time, money and energy ( less headaches too). Even teachers who loathe computers, can easily participate.

It is meant for teachers who, in spite of all the technologies and software available, find that giving digital homework assignments are too involved, impractical and costly.

AGE is a simple solution to enable ordinary teachers of the world to effectively make use of computer technology without inhibitions normally associated with using computers in schools and enables a near paperless classrooms without the high costs (no PDAs, no Tablet PCs or IPODs ....but just plain old diskettes)  for a GREENER WORLD. It is also about freedom. Freedom by teachers able to create digital materials unrestricted by cost and technology.
