Why is  AGE still using the 16 color low resolution graphics like the good old days?

Good question,  and the most asked and puzzling question.  Why are we, in spite of all the tools and advances made in ICT technology still using legacy systems?

First and foremost what is the objective of AGE?  - to reach out to the unconnected and underserved i.e the 5 billion people.

AGE aims to be able to reach out to the rural underserved population
and to ease the difficulties even in urban areas of content being able to be easily transferred around.

Why, in spite of all the modern technologies, more than 5 billion people remain underserved and struggling to reach them?
Why are most schools in the world still using paper based homework for their daily homework?
Why until today not a single country has succeeded in implementing ICT in mass  Education for the entire country?
....plus many more questions.. read here

Each AGE module averages only about 20kbytes to 30kbytes in size compared to many megabytes through traditional offline multimedia contents. AGE requires no Internet connection to run unlike broadband flash modules.

This would enable equitable access to educational contents both in the rural and the urban schools. This would first help to close the digital divides which until now has been increasing. Rural areas under current systems are unable to access rich multimedia contents certain urban areas are able to access.

Now AGE has configured a system whereby, by sacrificing a certain bandwidth hogging properties of current CD and Flash based systems, rural areas shall be able to HAVE ACCESS to these contents. To do these, AGE has backtracked to use DOS based OS coupled with Windows' functionalities and packages, has enabled modules to be delivered almost instantaneously to even the most remote areas of the world.

The average size of each AGE module usually is about 20-30 Kbytes zipped. It can therefore be downloaded and reach anyone with a simple dial up for minutes or hours of animations and in certain areas fully multimedia.

The bottom line is, students anywhere, anytime and any level of society can have access to good proven animated multimedia tutorials. Try that with current technology ... you would fail.

Now, 20-30kbytes surely cannot be compared to 20- 30 mbytes of contents found in current CD or online systems that require broadband to have any meaningful tutorial at minimum cost. Then we ask ourselves, who really cares after the first novelty of beautiful graphics. After the initial introductions most need to start learning. Is AGE better than paper based books? Definitely. So when a child cannot have access to modern day modules, is AGE a good alternative?

The proof:
To prove what we have said, if you had downloaded and installed AGE tools , then click this
Additional Mathematics module functions  (to download in seconds 65kbytes - 21 sub chapters for hours/days of tutorials) and
click here to run  (click the Run_ link)  see video how to run

If AGE is to use million colors graphics and animations, the objectives of AGE would not be realised.

Yes, certainly and we thank you for it. We would even give you a free 1 year subscription to our AGE contents as our way to say " thank you".

You mentioned that your system is environment friendly?
AGE will immediately dispense with the need to use tons of papers by students for questionnaires not to mention the dirty toners and inks. Instead the students use a few diskettes for the entire year. If each child is to save 1 rim of paper (of 500 pages) each, then with nearly 2 billion students around the globe, we are theoretically eyeing at saving millions trees a year and mega tons of black toners.
That my friend are a lot of trees and chemicals. Saving the trees is a multiple benefits.

With the trees still around, more carbon dioxide is reduced.
With less paper being used, less energy is used to produce paper
With less production of paper less pollutants and chemicals are used.
With less papers the land fills is under less
pressure.
With less papers, less carbon dioxide is produced when paper is burnt.
....and with less papers used in homework, less inks and toners will be used.

Do you have a reseller plan  I can join to earn some income?

To earn referral income from our reseller program is very easy. It involves giving away our free trial software to users. Users will duplicate and spread around the software simply because they need to. Whenever one user signs up for registration, you get a commission. If your users spread this throughout the school, you get very good commissions without doing anything. If your referrals reach globally you should see quite substantial returns.

Yes you can even put the software in your website for global downloads like we are doing here. Each download from your site, will be given a special quote to identify that the software came from you.

A very good percentage of the income will go to you every time the user registers or renew their subscriptions for the next 3 years.

Registrations resulting from installations distributed by your users will also carry your code. That means if a teacher or school is to download ONE copy from your site or given to them by you and the school duplicates/redistributes it to 2,000 students and teachers, you stand to gain referrals from these installations. What happens when these 2000 students further duplicates to other students? Making a million bucks? Not impossible. It costs you almost nothing except your time.

Sound output is slow
If you find the sound takes about a few seconds to play every time AGE tries to play a wav sound, you can take the following steps to reduce the time lag.

1.  Reboot your computer and try the software again.

2.  Close all other applications running in the computer.

3.  If firewall is in operation e.g. ZoneAlarm, disable the firewall only if 1 or 2 fails (make sure you are not on line to the Internet.)

4.  Press enter key a few times.

Try one or combinations of the above.
